Our replacement solutions -

perfectly tailored to your individual needs

SPARE PART SOLUTIONS

COMPATIBILITY AND QUALITY

Many manufacturers offer only a very limited spare parts supply, or provide no parts at all. Yet failures and downtimes of machines and systems due to spare parts that are hard to obtain or simply unavailable can have a significant impact on company success.

We have made it our goal to ensure availability of original or compatible spare parts that goes far beyond the restricted or time-limited spare parts supply offered by manufacturers. If parts are no longer available from the manufacturer, we develop and produce fully compatible replacements so that you benefit from a long-term spare parts supply.

MAXIMUM QUALITY

Regardless of which spare part you require, we always strive to find a solution for all requirements. EFI-automation GmbH will assist you with its outstanding knowledge and expertise and deliver maximum quality standards at all times.

INDIVIDUAL SOLUTIONS

If you would like to repair your faulty or old HMI devices yourself, we can provide fully pre-assembled front panels for rapid replacement on site as well as spare part kits comprising the touchscreen and film overlay or membrane keyboards.

FOR NEW AND OLD HMI PANELS

We produce our own spare parts for discontinued HMI panels such as the Siemens Operator Panel, Touch Panel or Multi Panel as well as for current HMI devices such as the Siemens Comfort Panel, Basic Panel and Mobile Panel.

SPARE PARTS FROM STOCK

We have spare parts available from stock for (virtually) all common Siemens human-machine interface panels. We even have parts for Siemens IPC 277D/477D/477E/677D, Panel PC 477/577/677, Thin Clients and Flat Panel.

Injection-molded housings

Housings are more than just mechanical shells for electronics, connectors, displays and complete modules. They perform integral functions, such as protecting against external influences (dirt, moisture, electromagnetic interference, etc.). The design of the housing also influences the sale of an element.

We can provide suitable housings made from PC/ABS, ABS, etc. for your modules:
– Cleaning and repair of existing housing components
– Replacement of faulty or damaged fronts, covers, etc.
– Replacement of unavailable parts with custom production

We offer a wide range of standard housings from stock as well as reconstructions and new designs.
– Replacement housings from current stock
– Redesign of existing modules
– Module analysis and complete reconfiguration

We are happy to work with you to address your individual needs.

Membrane keyboards

Membrane keyboards are thin and flexible input modules with a printed film serving as the user interface. The print is applied on the reverse to avoid abrasion. With a total thickness of approx. 1 mm (or thicker when featuring special functions) they represent the flattest means of data input on a control panel. The conductor tracks are also printed and functionally integrated in the film structure.

Our keyboards contain keys (with or without snap domes), windows for LEDs and displays, LED layers, which are functionally integrated in the film structure, and impressions for tactile keys. They also feature a tail connector with and without plug connections. The adhesive layer on the reverse allows the keyboard to be easily applied to front panels and housings.

There are no limits when it comes to the keyboard design and, depending on the installation, protection ratings of up to IP68 can be achieved. The polyester or polycarbonate films employed are resistant to many chemicals. Moreover, the film keyboards are very easy to clean, while antibacterial versions are also available.

In addition to the membrane keyboards as fully compatible spare parts for Siemens HMI panels (for repair and sale purposes), we are also happy to implement customer-specific new developments or spare part solutions.

Touchscreens

Touchscreens are glass/display screens offering a means of data input on a control panel. Touches on the screen are converted into absolute or relative cursor positions. Our range includes resistive touchscreens with 4- or 5-wire technology. Capacitive or multi-finger touchscreens made entirely from glass are available on request.

The touchscreens are made from transparent, conductive glass and film layers. The type and thickness of the glass substrate and the structure differ depending on the application. The screens are contacted via a flexible tail connector. Anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings are also available. The connection to system components is established via USB or by suitable means for your microprocessor.

We have a comprehensive range of touchscreens available from stock as 1-to-1 replacements für Siemens HMI panels. We can also develop and produce custom solutions tailored to your individual application, installation situation or requirements.

Keyboard PCBs

For complex input requirements or in the case of keyboards with additional functions, a printed circuit board (PCB) can be used instead of a film structure with printed silver conductor paths.

In this case, the PCB is made from FR4 material and consists of at least two layers. Multi-layer designs are also possible with complex circuits. The PCBs can be equipped with shielding layers to protect against interference, wireless antennas, RFID receivers and much more besides. If required, the conductor tracks can also be gold-plated, while carbon can be used as a cost-effective means to protect against oxidation.

With clearances amounting to a just a few 1/10 mm, conductor paths can be implemented in the smallest of spaces. Use behind keys and LEDs thus also becomes possible. If the typical 1.55 mm thickness of the PCB is exceeded, there is no need for an additional support plate. Flexible PCBs, on the other hand, are very thin and can be easily bent to enable rapid movements (e.g. button presses).

Other than snap domes, LEDs and special connectors, a PCB can also accommodate mechanical keys (e.g. full illumination, tangible key travel, etc.) and even displays.

Film overlays

The films on the front of your modules are made from polyester or polycarbonate. There are virtually no limits when it comes to the film design. The print is applied on the reverse for maximum protection, and the film can be either matte, glossy or selective. The film can be impressed to form tangible structures. Moreover, vanishing effects and filters can be employed to create impressive functional elements.

The print is primarily applied by means of screen-printing. Windows can be die-cut or can be clear and closed. We are also happy to integrate displays or touchscreens. Openings for emergency stop buttons, USB ports or connection elements are die- or laser-cut as required. A suitable adhesive layer is applied to the reverse to enable easy installation on the carrier, while keys, LED and display windows remain adhesive-free.

We will implement your individual wishes in a creative, cost-effective manner. We can do this using sketches, vector PDF files or your own original files. Special functions such as electrical shielding or UV protection are available on request. Replaceable text windows also allow you to make adjustments to button labelling at a later stage.

Membrane keyboards
